...........had his eyes tested last thursday, apparently, 75% of children born with down syndrome have problems focusing on objects at close range, Joshua is in the 25% that doesnt!!!!
he also has equal vision in both eyes which means that he is less likely to develop a lazy eye therefore, less chance of him wearing glasses when he is older!! he performed so well that my heart was ready to burst!
we saw a lovely lady called maggie woodhouse who is based in cardiff university and she has been doing research on vision in children with down syndrome
apparently, there is a link with a child with a heart defect and vision as in, more children with a heart defect needs glasses more so than children who doesnt have a heart defect, but that doesnt mean that if the child needs glasses then they have a heart defect!!
joshua also had his heart scan last month (i know, should have posted sooner!!) and he has a pin prick hole in his heart which is healing up.

Good news, good news and even more good news So happy to hear lots of good news. We see the development paed on the 1st june, so I'll ask about eye tests then. No one has mentioned it to us, specially with Holster having a heart defect too. Naughty...LOL
