Hi,
Thought I'd start a thread, as there seems to be a few of us expecting.
Thought it'd be nice to write our due dates and scans, and if we were worried about anything etc.
Well, I'm due on the 20th of Aug.
Haven't bothered with bloods or amnio, and I have my 20 week scan on the 6th April.

We all have our scans around the same time, I'm soo excited, and a bit nervous.....but also looking forward to finding out the sex.
My bil had a scan today, and they found out they're having a boy. And all seems fine with their bub's.
Helen did you get the results back from your bloods yet??

hi they did the results of the bloods combined with the scan they gave me a risk factor of 1 in 2400 instead of 1 in 123 which were the risk odds before i went in.I had my spina bifida bloods took a couple of weeks ago not heard anything yet.Dont see the midwife until the 9th of may as i have a consultant appoinment in between.

I never had my bloods done, so just the nuchal fold measurement, with my age, gave me 1:120.
I suppose no news is good news on the spina bifida results.
I don't see my midwife for another 2 months either, same reason as you!!

The measurement was 1.5mm, which was really good.
She said she would worry if it was over 4mm (I think) but with my age and having Lisa, it was 1:120.
I don't know if the measurement was included or not.
We only did the measurement as an extra, as to have the full nuchal fold and such, I would have had to go to Bristol, and didn't want to travell just for some statistics.
As for the scan, is your consultant doing it for you?
Mine is, and I'm pressuming, as she's the 'top notch' for scanning, she'll take the time to have a good look, and hopefully, if bub's is crossing it's legs, she'll let me have a bit of a shuffle to try and move it. She seemed really nice last time, plus she gave me 3 pics when I only paid for one. At our hospital they're really tight with the photo's. £4 for 1!!!! So, she was in my good books straight away lol!!

hello ladies,
got my scan this coming monday, can't wait!
babys getting more lively properly kicking now, Rob laid his head on bump when we were watching tv the other night and it was kicking him.
Still haven't been told about blood results, maybe the consultant will be able to give me them as will be seeing him after the scan. The nauchal test was 1.5mm at 12 week scan
Mondays going to be busy as Saul has eye test at 9am then scans 10:15, luckily same part of hosp, then will have to see consultant.

Oh, I bet you can't wait mash!!
I have mine on the thursday after.
I think you should be fine time wise as you have an early appointment and they shouldn't, theoretically,(sp) run late. Aww, that also means Saul can go to the scan with you!!

Back from scan, it looks all healthy. She found it hard to get the heart and stomach pics as it wouldn't lay right, so i had to go to the loo and come back.
When we walked in she said did we want to know the sex, so nervously i said yes and she said 'if its a girl they can't be 100%'. but once she started the scan she said 'can you see this big patch here, its definatley a BOY, very big'. Slightly disappointed its not a girl, but was just overwhelmed with the pics we saw of him. He was waving his arms and legs, swollowing and weeing inside me, which was lovely lol.
I've told me mum and brother, bro replied with 'as its another Saul we're not allowed round for the next 12 yrs when it won't be a pain anymore.'

Good luck Helen, make sure you let us know how you get on.
I had mine the other day, all was well with bub's, no markers for Downs, and it is a BOY!!....so dp is happy, he's not the only male any more!!
Apparently, he's going to be a big baby as well, (he's already measuring nearly 2 weeks bigger than his age). I'm used to having bigguns with Charlotte and Nicole, 8lbs6 and 9lbs4....Lisa was 7lbs4 and she was nearly 2 weeks early. I must have an accomidating womb lol!! She said he's more likly to be more on the size of Nicole!!!
The only worry I had was that my placenta has 2 parts to it, the small one is still covering my cervix, but I've just been to see the m/w, and she's really put my mind at rest. Also means I get another scan at 36 weeks to see if it's moved out of the way.
I have the opposite problem to you Helen, I'm terrified of having to have a c/section. (hopefully won't come to that)
Anyway, take care girls, and good luck again for tomorrow Helen!

Thanks jojo dan was 8lb 11oz and chloe was 6lb 14oz but was 4 weeks early so she would of been a good weight as well. When i had dan i had a vontouse birth and they caused alot of damage it took over 12 months to heal properly i had alot of stitches. So chloe was a planned section but the hospital messed up and she was then an emergency section different hospital this time so hopefully things will be better.I was on my feet quicker with a section and it was less painful.I will let you know how i get on.

Tell me about it, I've never had to think of boys names before. I can see Lisa actually being called by her name soon instead of 'baby' so her brother can carry the title lol!
Glad everything looked good on the scan, a big weight off your mind I'm sure.

To all of you that didn't kow yet...my waters went last Monday @ 33 weeks.
Have had the steroid injections and am on antibiotics, just hoping bub's will stay put for a few more weeks. They'll induce me at 37 weeks, if nothing has happened by then.
Bub's is measuring on the large side also, so I'm not too paniced (sp)
I'm just soo bored and peed off at the mo, I can't do anything, I'm aching, and I swear it's these antibiotics that are making me feel sicky and tired.
My waters went again last night, so I have invested in some pamper care mats lol....
Won't pretend I'm happy cause I'm not!!!!
Feeling VERY sorry for myself......please send me some energy someone!!!!
Take care guys, Jo.xxx

Hi Jojo
hope bubs holds in there till 37 weeks. At least if bubs is on the bigger side that should be better, and you know is been growing well.
Got another scan on thurs, just keep getting told the waters aren't enough for my dates. Been told to go straight in if any leaking, but have no idea what it feels like (never had leaking or breaking waters with Saul). Plus i've been wearing sanitary towels due to heavy discharge, so i don't even know if i'd notice it!

Hi Mash.....
I think you'll know even if they just leak, and check the smell....it will be sweet if it's the water, (not a nasty smell lol)
They're really warm as well.
Good luck for your scan on Thursday, not sure if I might need to have another.
M/w has just been around to do a CTG, might have to come again later, as he was asleep this time so there were'nt many accelerations. We can't win, when he's awake, he moves soo much we keep losing the heartbeat, and when he's asleep, we don't get the reading we need!!
I feel soooo much better today.....don't know what was up with me before, just really down.
Roll on 37 weeks!!

hiya, for those here who don't know me, I'm Debbi and know Danni, Adam and Rilith quite well. just thought I'd pop in as I'm expecting in August too, with my 3rd child. Although I don't have a child with DS, my oldest son Scott I suspect has ASD and my daughter Willow was born with imperforate anus. Both of them were early - Scott was born at 33 weeks weighing 3lbs 5.5oz and WIllow was born at 37 weeks weighing 6lbs 5.5oz. Am due in less than 4 weeks but have vowed to keep my legs crossed for a fortnight as my partner Graham just went offshore yesterday.

Just wondering how the preg ladies are doing
Only got 6 days left till Tai's due. been having contractions since the 3rd aug so on day 6 now. went to hosp on 4th as hadn't felt him move much but he was fine and it showed i was having regular contractions. was told to come back when i'm in labour, but they seem to become irregular. called hosp on 6th to ask midwife and she said they may just be trying to move him down as he wasn't engaged, but right now i wish he'd hurry up!
