Well, aty the minute because I am still not working our physio has been coming out to the house every week to see grace as she feels she is not too far away from walking. She is starting to cruise down along the sofa a bit and is practically running when we hold her hands. You should see her little face though, its like she is soooo proud of herself and even gives herself a clap when we let go of her hands.
Am trying not to build my hopes up too much about the walking as I realise it can take quite a while with some of our lil ones but the physio is so positive about it I just cant help myself.
Shirley xx

WOW thats brilliant!!!!!!!! Your lucky having physio so regular, we haven;t seen ours since October! She cancelled an appointment in December but I've tracked her down to the cdc this friday so hopefully we;ll be able to book a home visit. Does Grace have Pedro boots? PS. Keep up the good work Grace and you;ll soon be running rings round mummy lol x

well done Grace, I keep hoping Caleb is going to walk soon but no sign as yet! He can walk pushing a trolley or holding hands but hasn't got the balance yet. Grace is doing SO well!

Michelle, pedro boots are specially made boots that give extra support around the ankles (I think its just the ankles). Children with ds tend to have more flexible joints so they so made need the extra support. Can't believe your physio didn't know what portage was! About the size of hands and feet, George's feet are tiny and his hands are quite small but broad - I think this is a common feature in ds. Hope this helps x

Caleb has big feet and hands - and belly!!!! Alot of kids with DS seem to have slightly floppy or loose ankles so get supportive boots when they are heading towards standing/walking age. Caleb doesn't need then - neither does Grace so it's another "maybe" thing.
