Well Caleb had his hearing test yesterday and it's way worse than last time so she tested for glue ear and sure enough there's tons of it - he can barely hear at all bless his little custard filled ears. We have to go back in 2 months and if it's not cleared it's grommits all the way.
Now I know lots of you have dealt with this too and many of you have been through heart ops and the like so a quick grommit op is nothing but I'm still all worried! I do want him to be able to hear though - the hearing lady reckoned it's why he's not walking yet as well coz his balance will be a bit off with the ear probs.

max i was told the same reason for not walking, although he was taking steps his grommet he actually started walking properly about a week after but that could have been a coincidence ! i work in theatre hun doing tonnes of grommets and it really is a 2 minute op the actual anaesthetic takes longer, all they do is make a tiny tiny nick in the ear drum and place the grommet in,and they may suck a little wax /glue out if there's alot, i know you will still worry cos you have to it's the law for us mums, but it really is sooooooo quick and relatively painless love shell, charlie and jasmin xxxxxxxxxx

Sounds a bit like Grace Max, think its very common because all their little airways and tubes are smaller than most kiddies. At least we get lots of good advise from all the parents who have already been there

That's interesting about the glue ear maybe affecting their walking, I've never heard that before but Harry has glue ear and he was very late walking. Also now he is walking he is sooooo clumsy and staggers about bless him, I'm sure people must think I put whisky in his milk or something, lol! xxx

I think any ear problems affect balance a bit as far as I know.

I had glue ear as a bubba. Still suffer now when I get colds and stuff and my balance is crap at the best of times... LOL
Stevie (DS2) has had grommets too, cus of it.
He will be fine Hunni. I was just the same over him as I was for Hollys ops.
