Had Saul's key worker come round on Wednesday to go through the renewal for the DLA. It runs out next January but got sent teh renewal last month, apparently so they can get them processed in time It took us 2 hours to go through and we made notes for each section so i can write it out when i've got a spare minute. I know you always have to write the worst day example if you want to get any money at all, but just listing what we do for him really made it stand out how much extra help a disabled child needs and how you don't realise because you just get on with it. She did tell me something interesting. She went on a course about the forms and apparently you get money depending how long it takes you to do each thing. You know the boxes under each question ask 'how many days a week do they need this help?' 'how many times a day do they need this help?' and 'how long in minutes does it take to do this?' If you answer any less than 15mins in the last question they won't count it. So depending how long the total is at the end of the form depends how much DLA you get. And to get the mobility part that is also based on the childs behaviour. Just hope it goes through okay and we still get at least middle rate

Interesting about the '15 minute rule' so it seems lol!
Danni and I were just earlier on today, discussing DLA.
She knows you have some good advice!

I know I'm new to all this but I filled in my DLA form for the first time online. Unfortunately I had no one to ask about filling this in but I was amazed when I got my decision back through the post 4 days later!!!!! I was told it would take up to 8 weeks to decide what rate we would get! Maybe online is the way to go?? It certainly seems much quicker.
