Caleb has a flat patch on the back of his head on the right side. I know it's because he sleeps on that side and it doesn't seem to be getting much better. I can't make him sleep on the other side as he just turns back. The thing is that I don't know how much of his head shape is caused by the downs and how much is caused by the sleeping position... and what can/should I be doing about it??

you can get a special pillow for your LO, cant remember where I saw them. Ask your HV about it, she should know. Most babies who have this, grow out of it, and their heads look "normal". Good luck

William was the same and i was told once he starts sitting etc it will sort itself out but it didn't he still has an odd shaped head, flat at one side! it is very common now since the back to sleep campaigne. There is a pillow and some people use a helmet but i didn't want to do the helmet and didn't know about the pillow, i think they need to be unde 6mths or 1 for it to make any difference.

Rhys, (isn't downs, Lisa's brother) but has a very odd shape head. He is 9 months now, and although it is a lot better, it isn't right, we have waited 6 months and now finally have an appointment to see a specialist about it. One of his ears sticks out because of this and the alignment (sp) of his face is slightly out. If you look at the photo's of him you can see what I mean.
He's still gorgeous anyway!
