Thomas has been really grizzly for the last few days and his feeding has dropped right back down. He has a bit of a spotty rash under his chin and he's dribbling a bit and chewing his hands. Stupid question but could he be teething??? He's only 4 months old. He does seem to have a bit of a lump on his gum on the upper right hand side - so not normally where your 1st tooth would appear - but I just don't know!!! Any ideas anyone??
I'm a bit worried about his feeding dropping cos he's only just had his op and I'm worried it means somethings is wrong with his heart but I'm probably overreacting!!!!
Any comments would be brill!

It sounds like teething to me hun. has he got a sore bum??? or a bit of the runs?? Those are the other signs of teething
Have you tried his milk a bit cooler?? Soimetimes when teething hot stuff puts them off geeding??
Does he have a temp?? does he seem more tired?? Is his colour still good?? (heart questions... LOL)

I don't think he has a temp, his colour seems ok and he isn't tired at all - unfortunately!!! lol. He is a bit sweaty every now and again so I just don't know! No runny nappies or anything tho. Its a bit of a mystery!!!!!
BTW, sorry about my massive piccy of Thomas. I've tried to reduce it on photobucket and it won't go any smaller! Can anyone help???!!!

Its small to me hun....
I wouldn't worry on the heart front then hun, its understandable that he will still have the odd few clammy do's, as long as his colour is good and isn't very sleepy. You could always ring the ward you were on. Most heart wards have an open door policy anyway, so you can call them anytime for advice or call in to get him checked over.
Maybe he is just in a grump... LOL The problem with special needs babies, you read into everything too much and forget that sometimes babies are grumpy... LOL

ha ha. I know, I've become a right worrier since this heart thing! I'll see how he gets on and might give the liaison nurse a call tomorrow. Thanks for the advice sweetie! xx

Well, Thomas had 3 extra bottles yesterday (2 during the night - grrr!) and managed to get his 24hourly total up to 825 mls so I'm a bit happier about that! (did I mention he was weighed on Monday and had put on 1lb in about 4 days!!! He was 12lbs 9 1/2 oz on Monday and he's getting to be a bit of a chunky monkey! hehehe) I think I'll hold off on that phone call until Monday and see how he gets on over the weekend. He seems ok but had a bit of a runny nappy during the night so now I'm back to my teething theory! lol.
Unfortunately, over the last few days, Thomas has decided that he really doesn't need to sleep very much any more! Clearly this op has done him the world of good. He's managing on 2 half hour naps a day and about 8 hours (very broken sleep - :0( ) at night. I'm EXHAUSTED!!! GIVE ME BACK MY GOOD BABY!!!!
