Hi everyone
Just to let you all know, Jasmine had her first appointment at the hospital on Monday which was just for routine bloods. However, it was a real ordeal for my poor litte angel, like her Mum she didn't want to part with any blood. They tried for an hour, 2 nurses, a doctor and a peadiatrician. Needles in hands, feet, heels, she screamed the whole time with proper tears and kept looking at me as if to say "Please help me Mummy"... then one doctor said they couldn't get enough and would have to go for a scalpal vein (i.e. her head), at which point I said enough was enough. Luckily the pead also said she had had enough and that the tests weren't critical so we can wait til she is a little bigger... There was no way I was going to let them take blood from her head. It took her until today to settle she was so upset by it all... poor mite. No more appointments now until I get one through for her heart scan which should be less traumatic for her. Anyway, one positive point was how the doctor commented on how strong she is for such a young baby, she was tugging her hands and feet away from them, if she could have bopped them one I think she would... that's my girl.
Speak soon,
Lucy x

Poor little thing, don't blame her for wanting to hit them. It's horrible seeing them have their bood taken, you feel so helpless. Brodie doesn't like giving up his blood either,he's got really podgy hands and feet so it's realy difficult to find a vein and when they do get one he doesn't bleed very much! Good to hear she's feeling better too, take care x x

Aww poor little mite, you wont believe it but I actually recommend that they take blood from Graces scalpal vein, We have been through so many bad blood tests especially before and just after her op and they can never get it, she ends up in a real state. When they take it from her head it is over in a matters of seconds.Much less distressing for her. Sounds like she is doing great anyway, good to hear another update.

Poor little Jasmine, Harrison would agree with her, he absolutely hates having his blood taken too They used to take blood from Harry's head too when he was very little, poor little thing used to have a bald patch on his head where they had shaved it! but have to say he was very poorly at the time so they didn't have much choice. Agree if it's just routine tests then best to give little Jasmine a break! She certainly sounds like a tough cookie. Big hugs for you too as I know it's not nice seeing your little one being treated like a pin cushion x x

oh poor sweetheart - and poor Mummy! Yeah I ended up refusing some of Caleb's tests coz they were just not immediately necessary and poor little babies just need a bit of a break sometimes.
Sounds like she is a real fighter though - you're gonna have your hands full!
