We're just in the process of choosing a school for Saul. They sent our application to our old address so only found out about it on monday and it has to be in by the 18th! Been calling all the schools to get a viewing as his nursery teacher told me she knows they're school is already over subscribed. Been to an infant school this morn, so he'd be there till end year2. its a newish building only 12yrs and last year they had an extension with they're own speech therapist room and occupational therapy, so he could get it all at school. They can also do nappy changing where as his nursery/school now can't. So is very tempting, but its if the junior school after will be as good
tomorrow going to see a primary school, which have two yr 5 girls with Downs and other special needs children so should be well set up for him and friday seeing the infant school Rob attended.
he should have a statement by the time he goes and hopefully get one to one help
does anyone who's children are in primary school have any advise on what they looked for, or found their child needed at school?

Have you still applied to the school attached to the nursery? because even if they are over subscribed he still might get in because the in my LA was special needs is right near the top of the list, i.e Siblings in the school, special needs, children in care etc so he may be more likely to be accepted. If that makes sense and if that is what you want with him already having friends who will be in his class.
