My older 2 had dummies, Holly has one too.
I stopped the boys from having theirs when they started to talk, they still had it at night but not allowed in the day at all.
Holly is now 2 and still has it, she doesn't have it hanging out of her gob all day and only has it when she see's it or gets upset. She isn't talking...
Should I take it away just the same as I did with the boys and let her just have it for nap times and nasty hossie appointments???

i took brandons off him when it came to his second birthday he doesnt talk very well but the same as pinkshell i thought i was babying him and it was time to grow up and become a toddler.he had no probs giving it up and it only took a few weeks for him to be dummy free.so whatever u decide good luck..

cory has a dummie under his pillow its not allowed out of the bedroom (only for washing) i have had enough trouble getting him to sleep as it is and he likes his dummie to drop off...i look at it as we all have our nighttime routines wether it be a hot drink a f*g a read etc..its not harming anyone and unless you are in the room you would never know.....i have told him though once they are done i am not replacing them...i just say do what works for you ....

I'm sooo cruel Cameron only gets his a night, probably because hes at nursery all day. So he ahsn't had his since he was 8 months during the day. Niamh gets it for naps during the day and if shes upset and shes 9 months.
I hate them Niamh only got one at 8 weeks because she started sucking her thumb!
My oldest alex had one only at night as well from about age 1.

I have decided she isn't having it in the day unless she is getting poked at by proffesionals !!
Night time I'll wait until she is 3 like I did with her big brothers.
Just got to do the dummy hunt now... LOL

well Danny is 2 today so I have taken away his dummy he will get it at bed time only I wasgoing to give it to him at nap time but I think if he gets used to sleeping without it during the day it will make it easier to give it up at night. I had a terrible time getting the girls dummies off them and I am notgoing to go through the same again.

Holly has been dummy free now for a week and OMG in that week her babbling has come on BRILLIANTLY. She wasn't making a noise really apart from growling, but now she is full of MUMUMUMUMUMUMUMUM BABABABABABABABABABA and a million other liccle sounds Those of you whose lil ones still have them, trust me when its time to say bye bye to them its well worth it
