Just wondering if anyone else has done a sleep study on their little one at home? I've heard of others having them done in hospital and I assumed that's what would happen with Harry when the paed suggested it. Then this afternoon the community nurse dropped off an oxygen sats monitor and left it for me to do the study tonight at home. I'm not complaining as it means we don't have to spend a night in hospital but I'm just a bit unsure how effective it will be as he's bound to wriggle around and try to pull it off! She said I need a reading for the whole night in order to get an accurate result. Apparently the monitor automatically stores the date - still not sure I will be getting much sleep tonight tho as won't be able to resist keep checking it!

hi lisa i was told to either put charlie in a babygro or put socks over the sensor, it is really hard to stop looking at the monitor but you dont have to have the volumeon so it shouldn't annoy you too much hope all goes well, you will have to let us know the results good luck love shell, charlie and jasmin xxxxxxx

Thanks Shell, I've put a sock over it to try and help. At the mo he's averaging around 98 - so far so good! Will be interesting to see what it is around early hours because he normally starts to get a bit congested then. xxx

We are due to have a sleep study done in the next week or so because we now think that Thomas might have sleep apnoea. I've recently noticed that he has terrible night sweats and he's always been a relatively poor/unsettled sleeper so this might be the answer. I'm not looking forward to it but its nice to know that I'm not the only mum whos gonna have been up all night watching a wire and a monitor! lol.
Lisa, did you get any results back from Harry's test?

The community nurse is coming to collect the monitor on monday so hopefully it won't be too long until we get the results. The sleep study was suggested to us because Harry still has breathing probs on and off, sometimes at night he gets distressed and struggles with his breathing but then other times (thankfully most of the time!) he will sleep right through. When we did the sleep study the other night it was a good night for him and he slept right through with no problem, which is good but then I think really we needed the study to be on a night when he has one of his 'episodes'. The paed thought maybe he's got probs with his adenoids or tonsils. Poor little man, he's got such a diddy cute nose too that it gets blocked easily. When he's sleeping he normally stretches his neck right back, and I've been told that's a sign that he's trying to get as much oxygen in as possible.
Hope the sleep study goes ok for Thomas, and hope Cory & Charlie sort their sleeping probs out soon too xxx
