Lucy has just had her physio appointment. She has recommended i get lucy some boots as she is standing more and more now. But she told me not to get pedro (sp) boots just a supportive pair from john lewis/clarkes. They don't provide pedro anyway. Im not sure what size foot lucy is but its very small anyone know if im likely to get a pair to fit?? and did you get your pedros from your physios? I think mine is just being tight lolx

We can get piedro boots through our physio but our health authority charge £15 for each pair- Rachel found her boots very restrictive & whilst they gave her a good firm base for standing she wouldn't move in them no crawl or cruising the furniture . Our physio also advises us to get some boots either clarks or start rite but we found that they had trouble fitting her she measured a H in wdth but was only a 3 1/2 back then . We found a really good independent childrens shoe shop & she now has a nice pair of Geox shoes size 4 1/2 & we are going back for a pair of boots soon. They are very soft leather with good support but nice flexible soles,, she crawls in them cruises the furniture & is now getting herself from floor to standing with no help so she obviously feels confident in them. Hi
We get boots through our physio (well, sort of). She initially sorted a pair and it's been up to me to chase since then.
Cai is 41/2 now and meant to be reviewed every 6 months but if I don't chase this it doesn't happen.
We don't have to pay for boots but are limited to choice. Cai is a H fitting at Clarks and off the scales with Hush Puppies. He now wears boots for school and trainers or clarks shoes for everyday use.
They can also supply insoles in some cases that fit into everyday shoes so not have to wear big clunky boots all the time. You can also get Piedro shoes/sandals in the summer but we've never been allowed these (go figure).
We get told different things with every different orthotist we see!!
Good luck - it's a minefield. x
