Daniel went to the head teacher today to get a golden sticker for knowing all his phonic sounds at school I am so proud! Daniel's pretty chuffed too and always asked to do his letters! He's only been at school a short time, but I can really see a difference

How fantastic , what a little star , I'm sure you both had a hand in that with all the stuff you've done with him BUT isn't it great that he's confident enough to show everone at school what he can do- well done Daniel .

Aaaawwww thats brilliant, what a clever little boy and great that he is so keen to learn too. Is he at mainstream school? We're still unsure what to do for George... How old is he now? xxx

Daniel turned 4 in June and started mainstream this September. Everything seemed so fast paced at school (they learn 2 sounds A DAY!) but he seems to be managing with that side of things so far! I was also pleased the teacher recognized it as an achievement too I dont have much experience with special schools, but I do believe that good infant/primary schools can/should easily be able to successfully include a child with DS. But... schools are different and have different attitudes and of course parents know what is best for their little one! I loved Daniels schools attitude from the start and it just happened to be our local school so I know we were very lucky His speech/vocab has already improved, and he just seems older...

And yes to Susan - I didn't want to be one of those parents who is constantly saying 'well he can do it at home...' and then nothing at school! So pleased he felt comfortable enough at school to show the teachers.
