I cannot believe a facebook "friend" has just used the phrase mong face. Really upset as she was in my online ante natal group, so all our children are the same age. Anyway I told her I didn't like it and deleted her, I know I don't need friends like that

Mong is a widely used term here. No one means any harm by it, it sadly is just what people say. A good friend of mine was having a rant about her partner one day and she called him a mong. I had to laugh at her face when she realised what she said, the shock and the colours she went... PMSL she couldn't apologise enough

oh dear did she reply to you karen? she might be absolutely mortified like rilith says or she may roll her eyes & not care, it's difficult to know how people will react when you confront them about it. i never cease to be amazed by comments that people make to me, whether they're jokes about people having special needs or being retarded etc, the list is endless. i've found the majority of the time people aren't even thinking about what they're saying & i still find it difficult to judge whether to tell them or not.... on the occasions when i have confronted people they have been embarrassed & apologised.
