they are brown suede and class looking. ;D (I have a thing about brown boots so glad that Jack did not miss out)
He is more stable on his feet now and wants to walk all the time.
Hopefully it will not be long now until he is walking unaided.

Way to go Jack!
Thomas got his piedro's (navy blue with a little cat on!) in November after initally being told he didn't need them. His standing improved immediately and he's even started to step forward since getting them. They're great!! In my opinion EVERY child with Downs should get them!

Can i just ask when it was decided that your lo's needed pedro boots, was it before they tried to stand or after. I asked the physio about George having them and she said it wouldn't be until he was standing. Just wondered about this after reading how others have stood better after getting them. When we get George to stand he sort of pivots on his heals and his ankles are really flexible. Do you think I should ask the physio again? Thanks x

I had mentioned it to his physio as his ankles where clicking when we were working with his feet and she arranged an appointment with the appliance fitters at the hospital.
I thought that the shoes might have been a bit heavy for him but he has no problems he just wants to stand.
On Monday at physio they give he a small walking frame and he can take 4 steps while holding on this. He then gets excited and starts to clap but quickly realises that he has to hold on or else he will fall to his bum.
If i was you I would just mentioned it to the physio after all, all she can say is no. You have nothing to loose.
Sorry Jack was standing when i mentioned it.

Gemma wasnt standing when she had her first pair, she is now on her 3rd pair My Physio said even tho she wasnt standing she should have them and then we just had to stand her at the furniture so she got used to them. They definitley helped with her standing as they gave her ankle the support she needed xx
