as you may remember cory has very few words and signs away the best.....well ...i was getting him from the school bus today and as usual i say 'say bye cory' and he waves...not today he only turned and SAID BYE....the bus driver nearly fell off his seat ...we all started cheering any one going past would of thought we had lost the plot....and as you know im now getting him to say it ALL the time...may be he will turn round and tell me to SHUT UP.....lol

bless him - he sounds such a character from your stories! And shut up would be 2 new words so that'd be good too!

cory is nearly 5 michelle...he babbled loads when he was a baby and was told its a good sign he would speak...didnt tell me when though....lol...he uses makaton and so does the rest of my gang very handy when out and dont want to shout across to them..the only one who didnt pick it p was corys dad so we can sit and sign about him while he is in the room and he has no idea...lol..lol...he knows the basic thank-you and the easy ones

charlie was exactly the same and we thought the same as you that it was a good sign.we have all learnt makaton but like your hubby paul hasn't picked up much apart from good boy ,thank you and teddy ! lol our kids usually do the same to paul with animal signs ,both my older girls have learnt BSL and often swear to him lol .i am sure cory and charlie will get there eventually bless em, i just think it makes it extra special when they do learn to say something it just melts my heart and feel like crying in fact i did when he said bath my eyes were stinging lol xxxxxxxx
