well.... what a busy week have we had??!!
Monday - physio - joshua is at the frustrating stage where he knows how to walk but his body is stopping him from actually taking the steps!!
Tuesday - SNHV - we are going to look at applying for DLA again - as joshua is nearly 2 (where did that time go??!!) and he is not walking we will hopefully go through with applying. on 20th November we are going to have a look at a playgroup which has built up a great reputation with children with special needs. he will be entitled to 9 hours 1-2-1 a week
weds - portage - we have to concentrate on getting joshua to sign 'me' when we ask 'where is joshua?'
Thurs - optometrist - we are lucky enough to be living in Cardiff where Maggie Woodhouse is based. we last seen her when josh was 5 months old - joshua is slightly more long sighted than he was last time we saw Maggie but he is still able to focus on objects close to his face so Maggie isnt to worried - she has said that josh could wear glasses in the future but it is more to do with the fact that i am long sighted and it is hereditory.
that is the week of appts we have had!! but on weds after justine had gone - we had a phone call - SALT - we had missed an appt - we didnt recieve it because of the damned postal strike!!
anyway
other than that - in the space of a week - we have taught joshua how to drink.. from a straw!! and weds joshua had ravioli and toast for tea (he loves it!) when adam brought the food in and put it on the table josh made a grab for it - or so i thought! what he was actually doing was trying to get the fork!! i only realised when he went to grab a spoon of his which was to the side! so i was putting the food on the fork and giving the fork to josh - and he was putting it straight to his mouth and eating!
that is all i can think of for now - i am sure adam will put more if i have forgotten anything
