I have recently got in contact with our OT as I need some sort of bath aid for Henri. He loves the water but he can't sit still ( he's like a worm ), we have had some small accident's already and it has got to point that I wont bath him on my own and I love doing bath time. Anyway they sent me a form to fill in, they said I had to send it back to them within 3 weeks which I did and I got a letter back saying we are on the waiting list as he needs an assessment by the OT. I understand that there are more needed children out there but how many accident's do we have to have before they make us top of the list. I have tried the a bath seat that you can buy in Mothercare and that did work for a bit but now we are trying to climb out of it. Henri is quite a chunky little boy and unfortunately he did manage to climb out of it last night and slipped back down through one of the gaps and got stuck when I tried to pull him out he scraped his thigh and we had first proper tears it has left quite a nasty graze. I feel really awful about this and I don't want it happening again. Anyone got any ideas that I can try as I'm getting desperate ?? Sorry for rambling on

Oh dear poor Henri. Could you use some reins (sp) (the sort you normally use with kids when they are walking). to strap him in the bath seat that you've got. I'd get back onto the OT again aswel and keep pestering til they get you a proper bath seat. George has got one but he can undo the strap as it is just velcro fastening, so I don't know if that would be any good for Henri. Our OT had a catalogue with all different types of seats in so hopefully there will be something to keep your little man still x

have you tried the one from argos, it was quite small charlie was only really tiny at 1 yr he weighed about 11lb and he managed quite well in it or you could try wrapping a towel around his bottom half to fill out the gaps love shell, charlie and jasmin xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Gemma is a nitemare in the bath she wriggles like an eel. I find if she shares a bath with her brother or one of her sisters and they amuse her she will actually sit quite still. We used the bath seats when she was alot younger but there would be no chance of her sitting in it now, she would be out of it in seconds. lol xx

Henri is a whopping 21lb 7oz. I'm going to try Claired22 idea on using the reins just got to try and fix them some how. Henri will have a bath with his big bro Daniel but both of them together is even more of a nightmare, they egg each other on. BOYS why didn't I have girls. OT will get a phone call from me tomorrow to try and get things moving quicker.

Grace has one woth a velcro stap just like geroge, she too can undo the strap so I have put the strap on the wrong way now so that it fastens behind her instead of in front. Pester pester and pester, we had to wait a few weeks on graces but you will get it in the end, in the meantime try the reins

Anita, I don't know what the seat is called but I posted a picture on here a while ago of George in the bath, its on page 2 now headed 'new photo's of George'. Its a really clear picture of the seat. Hope that helps x
Shirley, thats a good idea about putting the straps on the wrong way round, i think I'll try that with George's now x

Thanks for that. Does the bottom of the seat have suction pads? Just tried to phone OT and the woman i need to speak to does not work on a Monday, typical she knows I'm after her.

Yes its got 2 suction pads on the bottom and also a bar that goes through the back of the seat with suction pads that stick to the side of the bath - I don;t think we had that on in the photo but we use it now as George is getting a bit more adventurous! x

Update on OT.
OT phoned me back on Thursday evening after i left them 4 messages, they have hopefully moved us up the waiting list after explaining Henri's accidents. Some one should be coming out to do Henri's assessment end of this month or next fingers crossed.
