well he re scaned me was there for ages after telling me due to my bmi being too high (30) the pics wernt as good as they could be! but all is still the same he offered me an amneo there and then but we said no because of the risks so i have to have a re scan in 4 weeks time he was exelent explained everything the percentage of downs is only 45% for us so its less than half on the possitive side x just not knowing is the worst we dont mind if its downs i wouldjust rather no so i can prepare myself and the boys ect x
i was wondering if there was any particular difrences that stood out in your pregnancys for example how much moovement did you have off baby?

Jack was more active than Ben was and he had alot of hicups.
I was sick morning noon and night I thought that Jack was going to be a girl.
All in all I had a better pregnancy with Jack than Ben I was able to work up until 30 weeks with Jack and only 12 weeks with Ben
keep positive and we are all thinking about you

As Grace is our first lil one I had nothing to compare my pregnancy too, although I do think she moved less than she should have another thing was that I was very neat when I carried her. I am quite a big sturdy irish girl and really thought I would have been like a balloon lol !!!
Sorry I cant be of more help, thinking about you

Well Lucy was very active infact too active i used to see the midwife as she never seemed to stop moving, who also thought it was excessive. She had hiccupseveryday before and after birth, and still gets them a lot now!!!!! I had a much easier pregnancy and birth with Lucy.

Hi, not really any significant differences for me either. George was quite active but no more than my daughter was. He did get hiccups alot which I don;t remember with my daughter and like Shirley says I had quite a neat little bump and George was 2lb lighter than my daughter at birth - they were both late too! Sorry I can't be of anymore help. We're all here any time to answer any questions or just for a chat. Take care, Claire xx

Caleb had hiccups alot too!! Never thought it might have been a sign? I was told I had a lot of water around him but no one thought it was indicative of anything, have since been told it's common with a baby with DS. He moved ALL THE CHUFFING TIME! He was only 1 week early and was a normal weight. The 20 week abnormality scan didn't show anything. Sorry not to be more help but at least you are being watched carefully and have some warning to get your head round the idea, well done you, you sound really calm about it.

With Cameron I bled at 6 weeks. I also had a lack of movement at about 32/34 weeks, so they scanned me and did a followup scan at 38 weeks thats when they realised his growth wasn't what it should have been and that there was resistance in the cord.
They then scared the life out of me and told me "This baby is better out than in" and booked for emergency induction next day.
2 days after he was born in scbu they diagnosed him.
So apart from bleed and growth at end all was fine, low risk on triple test nothing picked up in 4 scans only the 5th and final scan was anything noticed and that was the lack of growth

Forgot to say that when I had scans at 20 weeks and 32 weeks we were told that our baby had short femur bones in comparison to the other measurements, they said it was nothing to worry about but it is actually one of the soft markers of ds xx

I had a pretty normal pregnancy with Daniel but I also had a lot of fluid, but no one mentioned a link with DS - interesting that you were told that Max (I'll now have to go and do some research!) He moved loads and was a really good birth weight. Thinking back to the scans he also had shorter femurs but no one said anything because they came under the 'normal' range as the rest of his body was so big!!! I'm pretty sure for those of us who didnt know about the ds, our pregnancies are just as varied as anyones. I know that may not help! But a massive well done for coming to a site like this - it cant be easy. xxx

I had alot of fluid too plus sickness, but I was the same with my other pregnancy so didn't know the fluid was a sign of ds, that's interesting to know. From talking to friends who had children with ds I've never noticed any similarities in our pregnancies, everyone's different. I hope you can still enjoy your pregnancy and not worry yourself (easier said than done I know). Let us know how things go, take care xx

hi katy, im Sarah mum to Charli Mai who happens to have ds, im pg with my second child also a little girl, we had high risk with Charli so had the amnio which confirmed the ds, we decided not to have any tests this time round except a heart scan due to Charli having a heart condition.
