What ages are you thinking of putting the lil ones in a big bed???
Just wondering if I need another cot for baby. Holly will be 2 when the lil one arrives.... Don't think she is ready for a bed yet though.... She rolls around too much... I have to peel her face off the bars in the morning tee hee

We are no-where near thinking about a big bed for Leo yet, Freya was 19 months when she moved to her big bed, but she was able to get in and out of it herself. She has a bed guard, but would be terified to put Leo in with just that, maybe when he could get in and out on his own... or if he could climb out his cot. Will new baby be in your room in cradle or moses basket? That would at least give you a couple of months to decide...

hi rilith, we are just putting jasmin in a big bed this week she is 20 months, charlie is still way to small he cant even get up the stairs yet so we darent until he can get up and down them,he is still the size of a 6-9 month old so we got a while to go lol, like tace says if baby is in moses basket for a while you got a little time for holly to grow and be big enough xxxxx

Aaron's been in a big bed for about a year now, but he's always been able to climb in and out. But we got one of the low ones from IKEA which can grow with them. They have a bar on most of the length of each side of the bed. He's not very good at staying in it tho!!!

we put Saul in a big bed when he was 2. He would get out and play for ages, we'd often find him asleep on the floor. He feel out a few times.
He had a cot bed so it was quite low to the ground but when we moved in to this house last summer we needed the cot bed for Tai so bought Saul a Ikea bed. It sleeps on the bottom and then when they get older you turn it over and they're up high with space underneath.
Saul loves climbing so we turned it over months ago, and he climbs the ladder fine. Got a bean bag at the bottom incase he falls but never has so far. he also goes to sleep straight away as he can't be bothered to climb back out. lol

Hi Rilith, i've thought about this one as well. I am 11 weeks pregnant and Alex will also be 2 when baby born but I don't feel he will be anywhere near ready for a bed then. He is so tiny, still in 9-12 months clothes lol! In saying that, baby will be in Moses basket for 6 months so maybe he will be ready by then.

Ikea still do that turn around bed thing, it looks really good. Think I might get it for Leo, I am now really paranoid that he is going to climb out of his cot and fall.....
