Saul weighed 5lb 15oz at birth and put on weight really slowly. he was never given any high calorie milks or supplements. His now 2 n half and weighs 24lb as done by hosp last thurs. So really hasn't gained a lot of weight in his life. No-ones ever been worried about it

Holly was 5lb 10oz at birth and 3 weeks early, born 20th Sept, so not much difference to your LO Beckasmum.
I started weaning by 12-13 weeks. I had read so many different stories about babies with downs having problems weaning. I decided to get started early. She took to it great. I think that is one thing that has helped to to gain the little bits of weight she has. When we told the dietician we were weaning she sounded quite pleased though, but did the guidelines mumble but didn't force anything.
Had Holly weighed friday and she is now 10lb 7oz.
What milk is LO on? Holly is on infatrini and duocal suppliments

Hiya rilith, Havent started rebecca on solids yet, but hv and I were talking about maybe trying to introduce some baby rice or something quite soon. Rebecca is on sma high energy milk althoughsh still doesnt seem to be gaining that much weight I reckon that by the time we see the dietician she will recomend a dif kind of milk or give us more supplements or something as she is still only sitting at 9lb 14oz it is killing me as she looks so small and fragile, however she is bright spirited and full of energy maybe she is gonna be like her daddy a slim jim. lol

Holly had a neo natal nurse who suggested the infatrini milk. Its what they use for premmie babies to help them to gain weight fast. I think without it Holly would have ended up in hospital. As long as she is bright and alert I would try not to worry too much. Holly is bright eyed and bushy tailed as they say...lol. We are also really lucky to have the NG tube aswell. So even if Holly isn't hungry or hasn't the energy to feed, we can still get it to her tummy anyway. Its not an ideal route and I'm sure you would love to do everything else possible not to go there...lol if Dad is slim, then maybe she will be just like Dad Holster has got legs up to her neck, just like her dad hehe
