hi claire the consultant told me you are at a slightly higher risk, but there is no evidence for many many years of a family with 2 children with DS, , i think there is a DS that is hereditary but i am sure they would have told you if your son's was hereditary when i had charlie (ds) my risk was 1 in 2,500 at aged 36 and when i had my next bub i was 37 and my risk was 1 in 1,750.i dont think my results dropped much considering i was a year older and i already had a child with ds ,BUT I'M SURE if you speak to your consultant they will tell you anything you want to know .lots of luck hun take care love shell, charlie and jasmin xxxxxxxx

I was told that after having Daniel it was about 1 in 100, but there was more chance of me having twins... and very unlikely to have 2 children with DS.

With my 2nd child Aaliyah who has downs syndrome i was told my risk with her at 24 was 1 in 450,im pregnant with baby number 3 and im 29 (28 when fell pregnant) and this time the risk is 1 in 200,this was from having the 16wk bloods, but on paper i was told at 25 the risk was 1 in 125 and at 30 it was 1 in 75.
Hope this helps.
Heather.x
P.s Does anyone know of anyone that has 2 children with Downs??

I've read in some downs literature that it is 1 in 100. I've only heard of one other couple who had a child with ds then their second pg was ds too although they chose not to go ahead. They now have a third child who does not have ds x

I was told 1 in 100 but I still have no idea where that stat comes from!
