He started throwing up at 1.30am this morning and he is still throwing up. He cant even keep down cooled boiled water. Taking him to the docs at 4.45pm as I am afraid that he might get de-hydrated. Poor little man he just wants cuddled

took Jack to the docs and he gave his paracatamol sepositories to see if it will bring his temp down. If he still cannot tolerate fluids around 8pm I have to take him to the hospital. Doc has already phoned the hospital to let them know.
Fingers crossed

Well where do I start.
Jack was a bit better on Friday night before he went to bed.
At 1.30am Saturday morning he woke trying to be sick again. I don't know with what as there was nothing left in his tummy. Phoned the hospital and they said bring him in.
We went in and they just kept an eye on him. He drank some water and kept it down and had no dirty nappies. For breakfast he ate half slice of toast and more water and as he kept that down the doctor let him home.
Got home and the dirty nappies started. Phoned the hospital and they said that that could last for a week and not to worry about it as long as he was taking his fluids. He ate some pototes and gravy, not in good form but still drinking a bit.
Got up this morning and he has a sinker of a runny nappy and he was crampy. Phoned the hospital again and they said to give him calpol but if i was not happy to phone back.
Jack feel asleep for a while on Gordons arms (which is not him) when he woke his hands and feet were freezing and turned purple along with his lips, he developed a rash around his bum and it was spreading up his tummy and another vile nappy.
Phone the hospital again (at this stage I think I had a direct line) they told me to bring him in. The reason for his hands, feet and lips turning purple was his temp for very low, the rash was a viral infection working its way out of his system (so they say) and he was dehydrated. He is getting a drip on this afternoon for 24 hours and we will take it from there
Going to bed now for a sleep as I am doing the night shift

WE ARE HOME
At last we are home what an experience.
It turned out that they would not put Jack on a drip they let me go they said that as long as he was taking 750ml of fluid a day except water it was fine. On Sunday he took 200ml Monday he took 450ml. I kept telling the docs that if Jack does not have enough fluid going into his body he develops a chest infection. No matter how many times I said it it seemed to fall on deaf ears. Then my temper got the better of me and I phoned Jacks GP and asked him if he could phone the hospital as we both felt that they were not doing very much for Jack, the did not put the drip up and we did not know if he was dehydrated or what his salt levels were like with all the diarrhea. I was talking to the GP as 2.50pm and Jack was in the treatment room getting blood tests done at 3.05pm. How quick was that. Bloods came back borderline but at least we knew and as far as Jack was concerned he seemed to turn a bit of a corner. He started to drink even if it was with a syringe at least we were getting the fluids into him.
The docs told us that we would get home this afternoon if he continued to take fluids which he did.
He still cannot go to nursery until the diarrhea stops which could be anything between 2 days and 14 days.
At lease we are home and his form has improved.
