Hi all Josh has just had his check up with the Dr and he has put on less than 1lb in 4months, we've now got to have a load of bloods and see a dietitian. I'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong with him (his colour, size, poo(!) all look fine to me!) and he eats 3 full meals a day, a fruit snack in the afternoon and 2 full bottles. Has anyone else experienced this?
Thanks x

Hey hun, I know we spoke about this when I saw you and I haven't experienced it but as you said, Josh seems pretty healthy to me!

Gemma has been the same weight for the last 6 months. She eats really well and is quite healthy now. My Health Visitor said children with Downs can be slow to put weight on and as long as she is eating ok and well in herself not to worry. xx

Hi. I would agree with Debs on this one. Rosie has always struggled to put on weight and it did become an issue for quite a while when she was mainly tube fed and wouldn't eat solids. Like Josh She has only put on a pound since beginning of May and now weights 16lb 2oz. However My consultant was not worried at all when he saw her recently - he plotted her weight on Downs weight chart, examined her and asked me questions. He was very happy with her - she is running along the same line on the Downs chart (ignore the 'normal' red book charts cos DS dont put on weight at same rate as other children) and she is eating, drinking well. She is still under a dietician and on the highest calorie milk (Infatrini) and i have to load her food with as many calories as possible. Try not to worry tho - you know him best, if he was ill i am sure you would be the first to notice. Michelle x

I think this is soooo common. I guess they are just being careful.
