Hello and welcome Most of all congratulations on your special lil Girlie. It might seem hard at first, and a little unfair to begin with. Its totally OK to have the WHY ME moments, We have all had them and prolly still do from time to time... LOL But believe me when I say it makes every little thing all the more special because they have to work just that little bit harder to get it. Holly has made my life and my other childrens lives richer for just being Holly. Everyone loves her to bits. She is the only one on our estate with Downs and everyone knows her and us and always stop to see hoe she is doing. We have so much help from people like physoios, speech & language and Portage is cool Anyway enough of my waffle... LOL To learn more about us you can read our story in Riliths Therapy

Hi and to you and little Kimberley. I'm Claire and mum to Esme 8 and George 19 months on the 11th. George has ds and like you we didn't find out til after he was born. There will be times when you feel down - its only natural, but it does get easier and you think of the ds less and less. Also there is so much help professionally to help our little ones progress and achieve their milestones, and the help you will get on here is fantastic. Looking forward to getting to know you and see some photo's of Kimberley. Take care xx

Hi Michelle
i'm Claire i have two sons my eldest Saul is 4 and has DS, he was born when i was 18 and the DS was toatlly unexpected. He started mainstream school this year and doesn't even has a one to one helper, he loves it there and has tons of friends. Our locally disabled childrens centre was great when Saul was born, they gave us all the info we needed and really helped him. Feel free to message me anytime if you want to ask anything

Hi Michelle and welcome to the site, I'm Lizanne mum to Cameron who is 2.
All I can say is there is not many lows but a hell of alot of highs. You have a very special little girl.
The only tears I shed are of joy. Throw out your milestone books, Kimberly will do everything in her own time an make sure you get referred for everything its easier to cancel an appointment rather than try and get one.
Mashpotato was 18 when she had Saul, she would be good for you to talk to.
