Hello, Just thought i'd let you know that my hubby and i are trying for our 3rd baby(and its all Riliths fault!!lol...it was all that broody talk and then pregnacy talk that made me think stuff it,i'll tell hubby that its tough were having another one and thats that!!!) Anyway as you know i have Joshua whos got williams syndrome and Aaliyah whos got downs syndrome and weve had 5 miscarridges and ive always know ive wanted another baby but kept putting it off as hubby was convinced that the next pregnany would go wrong aswell, so i sat him down and told him that lots of the mums on here had gone on to have other children after thay had had babys with downs and that they havent had any problems so he said ok and now i think hes secretly quite excited about a lil bundle!! Ive said that i'll have a CVS next time and was wondering if any of you had had a CVS?? and what was it like?? 9had the blood test and nuchal fold scan with Aaliyah but it didnt pick anything up) And Rilith do you have any tips ?? i seem to remember you were pregnant quite soon after your announcement of TTC!!LOL Heather.x

Got for you, it only took us a month to conceive Niamh.
Top tip do it every 3rd day then every 2nd day then everyday around ovulation then every 2nd and then every third again that way all your days are covered.
Best of luck and buckets of pregnancy dust.

Joshua's not soo keen on another baby as hes says all babies do is cry and its not sharing his room!!lol As for Aaliyah she loves babies and plays mummy all the time with her baby Annabell, she only has to see a pic of a baby and thats her quite happy so i think she'll be fine although it does worry me as she carries her dolls by their necks!! p.s Lizzy told hubby what you said about how often and he said "what are you trying to do...kill me!!" whatever it takes eh Lizzy!!

OOOOOOOOOOOOOO How the hell did I miss this thread !!!!! Thats great news, glad I have inspired you... tee hee. My worst part was waiting for the Depo injection to wear off. That seemed like forever. Once my periods were back on track it took 2 cycles and I got PG OK Tips.... I did the deed every single day from the moment the evil witch left until the BFP showed up.... LOL. Thats how I did it ;D. (If you are not going for the everyday approach keep an eye out for EWCM... Thats when you are at your most fertile.... ) Oh and really sorry for a major TMI too.... Make sure you are happily satisfied after he is if you get me.... I can go into detail more via PM if you prefer... Tee hee And yes Carl thought I was trying to kill him, now the poor sod is back to once a month again PMSL.... We didn't have the CVS either, we were contemplating it at one point more because of the Pataus than the Downs. Then we had the Nuchal scan and I was content with the results from that so I have declined all further tests. At the end of the day if it was Downs again would it be that much of a heart break, after all we are in that position already and we are somewhat prepared should it happen again. We had the amnio with Holly, its an uncomfortable procedure but not painful. As long as you look after yourself for a few days after and don't go carrying wardrobes up the stairs you'll be OK... Tee hee Good Luck and Happy Baby Dancing

Rilith...pmsl!!! everyday!!!....can you imagine taking a year+ to concieve....you'd be in a permanent zombie state!!!
Do you know anything about the pill?? I came off the pill and had an AF on the 31st so im now on day 29 and ive had 3 BFN (i was testing early!!lol) Usually hubby only has to look at me and i'm up the duff and everyone that i've asked about the pill has said they've fallen straight away!! boo hoo!!
I sent off for a Cheri prediction and she says that i will have a GIRL and i will either concieve, find out about or give birth in JUNE..... i kmow it all sounds far fetched but i have an open mind and now have the "Riliths top tips to getting pregnant!!" (you can send more via pm i dont blush that easly so i dont mind TMI !!lol
As for the pataus i done a bit of reading up on it as i was reading the pregnancy after terminate board as i know alot of people terminate downs babies etc and i just wanted to know why and bloody hell there were soooo many some as late as 22wks!! and the only reason they gave was "the baby had downs" i was like it that it?? i could understand more if the child was going to be seriously disabled or have no quality of life and i looked at Aaliyah and cried my eyes out, that someone would terminate just because of Downs syndrome....are kids are fantastic!! you only have to look on a site like this to realise the full potential of a downs baby...i realise that im rambling and could offend someone so im going to shut up about it....
Anyway what i was getting at was the nucal measurement does that just indicate downs or would it pick up pataus??
Have you got a bump yet?? i still look like im having one !!better join ww or at least stop for breaths whilst im stuffing fast food in!!!lol

What board?? Let me know so I can go and give them a piece of my mind.
i feel lucky to have Cameron and I wouldn't be without him and if everybody wasn't so bloody ignorant and knew how lucky they would be to have downs child and how great they are then they're wouldn't be all these abortions, we need better education for everybody. I don't understand why someone would want to abort a happy loving child that achieves things at a slower pace?? To know cameron is to love him.
MIL was over the other week and was talking about a friend of a friend of hers daughter and she was talking about their child and she said and i quote "She's not as bad off as you two" Eh Hello? Who said we were bad off, so I let her finished and let her know exactly how happy we are and how nobody should pity us, shortly after my long speech she left, just before i kicked her out!!
Ok rant over, i'm sorry but it makes my blood boil

The larger nuchal measurement gives a risk factor of chromosomal abnormalities. Personally I feel that it is a little more accurate than the triple test.
Holly's measurement was 4mm at 10+weeks and This ones is 1.8mm at 12 weeks. They work out your age, and the fact you have a child with Downs and give you a risk factor, a 1 in so many. Holly was 1:77 this one before the nuchal was 1:129, after it was 1:409. Not megorific results but enough to make me happy anyway.

OOO sorry the pill question.... people vary. Some need that 1st period Pill free before conceiving, others conceive while still on it. Just make sure your timing is right.
The EWCM you need to look for is a huge timer for fertility (Sorry blokies cover your eyes here). Its a discharge thats very gloopy like egg whites. It will start off quite creamy, but will change to clear goo... LOL, Thats your time to baby dance every night. Its the most hospitable environment for the sperm to live in (Its also one of the reasons why you have to do your deed after he has done his, because the mucus changes and becomes less homely IYGWIM) Thats your bodys own way of saying NOW !! Also listen to your own labido, if you are feeling really really rampant, then thats also a good fertile sign.....

people who think this are so small minded, i have not had much negative comments but i have had a few , one being from a collegue and now i find it so difficult not to bite her head off every time i see her as it makes me so mad. Any child no matter what disability/ syndrome or whatever has got a quality of life and i would argue this till i was blue in the face! But ey we are the lucky one i guess aint we, i belive special people have someone extra special x x
