hi the web address is: www.brainwave.org.uk. It's basically a therapy centre where you take children with developmental delays e.g DS, cerebal palsy or chromosomal abnormalities and they assess them and make up a programme to help reach the childs potential. It is a charity and the donation for people in England is quite expensive. they get a lot of funding from Scotland so we have got it at a drastically reduced rate. I heard about it from a special needs board that I go on and everyone that has visited has been really positive so though I would ask on here .

We've been to Brainwave and got a really accurate assessment of Amber's development. We also go a specially designed program to do with Amber as often as possible, we only mange 2/3 times a week due to to home life but it already has made an impact.
All of the team are very positive and very professional, some of which have more than 20 years expereince in this field. It has made things easier for us as i was always trying to do a bit of this and a bit of this and never quite feeling i had covered everything, when you carry out the program it covers all of the development area's which need addressed meaning, when i do the program i feel quite confortable that we are working towards all of our goals.
The good news is the scottish executive pay for more than 70 percent of the costs because us scots have to travel further to get there. I got flights for less than 100 pounds and they have accommodation onsite for 30 pounds a night. All in all money well spent i say. Better news is they only have 26 scottish families, next time we see them in in 2 weeks and they are coming to my house and they are now trying to get a centre in scotland set up for re-assessments, it looks like we won't have to go back to Somerset. More families in Scotland the better for all of us!
Highly recommended !!!!

Hi, should have updated the site lol! I went 3 weeks ago and well worth the trip. The program they made for Alex was fantastic and we have really noticed a bug difference in him already. The staff were great, you felt as though they really cared for your child. Alex loved the hydrotherapy, something that he had never tried before. They are coming to visit us in November. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Just wanted to say that I live a 5 min drive away from Brainwave but have never been there. If anybody is visiting it would be great to meet up.
