Hi everyone,
Just to let you know I called to chase Jasmine's DLA application today and they confirmed that a letter is in the post and that they have awarded her the High Care rate. It has been backdated to her being 3 months. Am really suprised but not complaining. Get first payment in a couple of days so can feel some baby shopping coming on, new wardrobe and new chairs I think!
Wish I'd copied the form for next time as I obviously did a good job completing it.
Am going to contact carers dept tomorrow to see if I am entitled although don't think I am whilst on mat leave. Once I know that I will make my decision about work because am seriously considering a carear break for 12 months which means I will be off with Jasmine until she is 2. I want to spend as much time as possible with her whilst she is little and childcare is going to cripple me so it hardly seems worth rushing back.
Lucy x

I'd be more than happy to help Tina, you're welcome to PM me if you want my mobile. I must admit that my brother gets disability for a life time illness and I have helped complete his forms in the past.

That's really good news.
I'm still trying to fill mine out, not having much luck with it at the moment, I've done it all out in rough, I have also printed out the help pages from the DSA website and they have been quite helpful, my only worry is that i have gone to over the top but what i have said is what i do.
Did you get any supporting letters from Dr's etc? as I have asked and i just get told that they will wait until they get a form back, what ever that is.

Hui Anita, I just got Jasmine's peadiatrician to complete the declaration as Max said. I think they may have checked on Jasmine's heart specialist but apart from that I didn't get any other suporting statements. As you said, you have to think realy hard about al of the things you do with your little one. To be honest, it's easy when they are so litle as they do ned lots of care.
