Finlay had a 3month paed appt yesterday, and looks like his thyroid is underactive . They are going to monitor it to see if it gets any worse so lots of blood tests. Does anyone else have experience with thyroid problems?? Otherwise he is doing ok!

Funny you should mention thyroid as i was just on about this yesterday to one of the doctors where Joshua was yesterday and i dont think Aaliyah as ever had hers tested and shes 4 in aug!! think i should ring the doctors surgery on monday and get this sorted out, i thought the thyroid would just determined wiether your fat or thin but apparently it has to do with brain development.

That website link was useful so thanks!
I think it's recommended that babies are routinely tested at 3months, 6months, 1yr and every year after for thyroid levels. It does seem to have quite an effect on overall development and growth, but seems it'll be easy to control if found.
Will update you all on what treatment they decide to give Finlay after this series of blood tests.....
