Hi everyone, Thanks to all of you who have replied to my other posts and wished me luck for tomorrow... if the truth be known I can feel myself starting to get worked up now I think it's because I have really come to terms with my decision now, I really want to go ahead and have little Jasmine, however, I have promised myself that if tomorrow reveals that there are severe health problems with Jasmine then I won't put her through any suffering knowingly.... already though I am telling myself how wonderful modern medicine is and that most things can be corrected, how resiliant babies and children are and that she still deserves a chance to make it through whatever life throws at her.... In honesty, I don't know what to expect with this scan or what they may or may not be able to detect. I know that complications could develop much later either durng the pregnancy or once she is born but tomorrow feels like the last hurdle, the ultimate make or break of my decision. Does any one have any tips for questions that I should ask or what the scan will be looking for? Is it too early to expect much information about Jasmine's health at this stage? Any thoughts or suggestions much welcome. Take care all, Lucy x

Well.... 40% of children with Downs have some kind of heart defect. Some are mild and need no surgery and some are a little more complex. All can be fixed though. As I have said before Holly has complex defects, yet she is still able to enjoy a very active and very energetic life... (Trust me, I am ready for the lil madam to go bed) Other complications are with the bowels and kidneys which is around 10% of children with Downs. Other things are not picked up on until they are born I'm afraid. I'm sure all will be fine though Hunni. What ever happens with your scan you know we are all here to offer advice and reassurance. ((((((((((((( HUGE HUGS ))))))))))))))) And loads of Good Luck

My little grace had her heart surgery only 2 weeks ago at 5 and a half months and she is doing great, have a read through Riliths therapy pages and I have posted about Graces op in the heart support section and put on some pictures to help others (in the picture gallery)who may have to go through it in the future.
I wish you all the luck in the world and am praying that little Jasmin and you will be fine xxxxxxxxxx
