Danny was seen by the Physio this morning and she says dannys feet are still like a newborn babies so instead of getting him more boots she wants to try him with splints instead, It might slow down his crawling but it is worth a try as she does not want him to get frustrated at not being able to get up on his feet. So he is going on thursday to see about getting them. I just wondered if anyone elses lo has had to be given splints and if it helped.

No sorry can;t help there, have only seen kids at cdc with splints and they seem to get around really well. In what way are his feet like newborn - is it the size? x

Well got Danny to the orthotics todday and they have decided splint are not the best idea as they might slow him down so they are going to get him new boos andput insoles in them to help his ankles

charlie had the insoles but we had to give it up as a bad job cos they have to be the same size as the shoe and they are quite wide resulting in the boots not being tight enough around charlie's ankle so they just came off, we spent more time putting his boots back on, when we mentioned it to physio she had a look and said to stop using them, cos charlie's ankles are so tiny it made no difference how tight the laces were done up .It hasnt hindered him walking but his ankles bend inwards and the ankle bone nearly touches the floor on the insides, hopefully as he gets stronger things may change. Good luck with them xxxxxxxxxx
