When did your little ones start spoon feeding themselves.
Jack will be 2 in September. He will hold his spoon. I give him a bowl with some food in it when I am feeding him. He puts the spoon into the bowl and then into his mouth, which is great but there is never anything on the spoon.
Am I wishing too hard??

Daniel has just turned two, and knows what to do with a spoon, and has got a good scooping action, but rarely gets a good spoonful!! He does try though, but usually gives up and uses his hands (for EVERYTHING, even yoghurt!) As Rillith said, as long as they have the idea, then it will come. Although Daniel seems to do better with feeding when hes at nursery, as they leave him to it, and he must know that mum isnt around to help him out!!

Ruby has just turned two too - like daniel she knows what a spoon is for but can't quite manage it. We let her use the spoon right at the end of her meal - so she gets a bit of practise. She has only started eating finger foods properly.
