Hi, wonder if anyone can help - Rachel has always had slightly sluggish bowels ( not unusual) but her motions have always been firm & we had got into a good routine of sitting her on her potty every mornig & evening & she would usually do the business either every day or every other day .
Well for the last 10 days she has had the loosest foul smelling motions she just has to pass wind & she's soiled, she doesn't seem unwell, I haven't started giving her anything different foodwise.
Could it just be a tummy bug or do you think i should get her checked out- she is so well in herself i feel kind of daft taking her to the doctor.
xSusan

hi susan, this sounds exactly the same as charlie (there is a thread on here somewhere).it carried on for months,we kept taking him to the gp and we eventually tried him on dairy free foods and a gluten free diet there was no change .we got a referral after 6 months and he was diagnosed with toddler diarrhoer (sp) they said it was common and should go within 2 years,no treatment.charlie has had it for nearly a year now and it still is the most foulest of smells. i would still get rachel checked out though because his paed said the symptoms are virtually the same as coeliacs but without weight loss. lots of luck shell, charlie and jasmin xxxxxxx

Hi Sarah, well never got to taking her to docs , kept telling myself i should - but she seemed so well otherwise -when on monday she jsut started passing normal stools again !! She has been fine since , back in her old routine of doing them on the pottyso who knows perhaps it was a bug , but it certainly didn't make her feel unwell. Thanks for asking Susan
