Just a quick message to say hello and thanks for the welcome messages. I'll tell you a little bit about me. I'm married to Tim and we have two little boys, Samuel and Harrison. I also have a step-son Matthew. Harrison has down syndrome, we have just celebrated his third birthday. When I get a bit more organised I'll add some photos. I look forward to getting to know you all.

Hi Daniella, Yes that's me I hadn't realised the article was on here, glad to see you have seen it which means you know a little bit about me and my clan already. Although hasten to point out I have loads of positive stuff to say too (I know that article is quite heavy going and shocking). 'Mash' told me about your fantastic site ages ago, but I'm a bit disorganised so it's taken me a while to get around to joining. Will have a good look around the site now and look forward to chatting more.

Hi lisa, im sure you have done a magazine article?? as i remember hearing that you were offered a termination at 35 weeks and ive said to no end of people(when ive talked about people having or being offered treminations for downs) and ive said "ive read of a women being offered a termination at 35 weeks, but she didnt and now she has a beautiful baby boy!!" Personally i dont believe that you should have been offered a termination that late because he could have survived if he was born at that many weeks. He's gorgeous and you and your husband must be sooo proud of him!!

Hi Heather
Thanks for your message, yes there have been a couple of magazine articles and other newspaper stuff, plus some telly, it was a bit crazy there for a while! The scariest part was when they asked me to do live radio and then to go on gmtv - aaaah! I didn't realise at the time that it would get so much attention so it was quite scary but restored my faith in people that many people shared my view that our experience was shocking. I'm sure the rate for terminations wouldn't be so high if people were offered better support and education during pregnancy but that's just me on my soapbox! Once I've worked out how to put some photos on I'll show you some more recent ones of Harrison - I'm a bit of a technophobe though so haven't worked out how to do that yet!
Love Lisa xx
P.S. Aaliyah is a gorgeous name.
