it's a statement of charlie's educational special needs hun,we have to have one in order for him to recieve full time one to one classroom assistant because of his learning disabilities and all his personal and medical needs.do you not need one in Ireland ? love shell, charlie and jasmin xxxxxxxxx

hmm im not sure we have a child development clinic we were at before xmas and have to go again soon i think its the physio/ot/social worker speach therp etc was told there that they take note of progress and when time comes help to place her at school as i wanted to enrol her now for nursery and primary school as my friends have done that already as thought if training was required theyd have plenty of time but was told was too early i dunno lol

Thats great news i know of kids who have the same person move with them through school so they really get to know them. Its awful you had to fight for it is Charlie going to mainstream primary. In Ewan and Annas school there are kids with ds who either go mainstream or to the special needs class depending on their needs i suppose.

OMG I can't believe you have had to fight for it. Our Ed Psych has told us thats what she is going to do anyway even though she feels Holly is capable of coping in mainstream, she said it would make it easier in the long term just in case there was ever any need for her to go Special needs...
So glad you won though babes,.... WELL DONE YOU !!
