sorry need to rant a bit.
Went to doc's on monday because i've been having a period for 7 weeks now. I said i thought it was something to do with the contraceptive implant i had put in in sept. The first thing doc said was 'when did you last have a smear'. Which i have never had as they don't do them till 25yrs. So she wanted me to ahve a smear and otehr swabs to check for infections first. Gave me high progesterone tablets to stop the bleeding so it could be done.
went back today and nurse said she won't do the smear as i'm only 22. so i said the doc asked for it, and she said it doesn't matter as the lab won't test under 25's as the chance of cancer is so low.
as my mum said when i told her 'thats what i was told about having a child with downs, don't worry your so young your chance is to low but someone will still be the 1%'
i'm sure it is only the implant causing it, but i'll be really annoyed if in 3 yrs when i have a smear they tell me i have cancer.
rant over
hope everyone else is doing okay.
Sauls done 2 days at his special needs nursery 9:15 - 2:15, they've been bringing him home, he seems to like it. Should do well as its more structured than his normal nursery and the 2 nurseries will be sharing their learnings on him so he can do well in both. next week he gets transport both ways so will be about 8:30 - 3:00, i would say 'ahh the peace and quiet' but Tai never stops crying so no chance of that.

hi mash, what a load of pooohhhh, luckily i had a smear with my first pregnancy at aged 18 and guess what i had a stage 3 cancer luckily got treated with laser but i would insist on one, it is your right ,they are right with the slim chance but it's worth it for the piece of mind.
i dont want to frighten you at all but you are entitled to this ,i thought everyone had one with your 6 week post natal check, i know we do routinely, i think the implant does cause erratic bleeding for about 6 months then it should either calm down or stop the NHS are ar### but as we as staff are told you are the customer and they are always RIGHT. my rant over too, lol again i dont want to frighten or worry you as the doc says the chances are very slim so young Hope all is well xxxxxx

Thanks
my friends who's bubs is due in May has been booked in for a smear by her MW, for after the birth and she only lives 20mins away. Some how we always manage to live in an area that isn't as cooperative in any situation.
