Saul's been doing really well at potty training, goes to wee on his own and gets a sticker on the chart i made him. But earlier i went to hang some trousers up after i'd bathed both boys. Saul ahd no nappy on as it's still a couple of hours before bed and he doesn't understand pants yet. Come down and all over the dining room was poo. it looked like i'd had a pack of very sick dogs in the house. He'd got it on the computer, the chair, all over himself from head to toe, all over tai's bottle and all over Tai including Tai's mouth
as you can probably guess i was not impressed and it was back in the bath we went. Tried cleaning it all up but the house stinks and carpet cleaners can't get here till next friday! The other week we saw a psychotherapist (sp) about Saul's tantrums who said we can't use the naughty step if he doesn't understand what his done wrong. So i couldn't do anything to him as he was oblivious to the wrong he'd done. Don't know how i'm going to stop him doing it again if he doesn't understand its wrong, his done it once on the potty which he got stickers and treats for so god knows why he hasn't carried it on.
sorry rant over

Oh no, you just don't know where to start with a mess like that do you. I went into Brodies room the other morning, he was out of bed and playing with his toys quite happily but his nappy had leaked and there was poo everywhere, you just feel like crying! What age did you start potty training Saul? I'm debating starting with Brodie soon as he's started saying wee wee and pointing to his nappy so i'm wondering if he knows when he's going now. Any top tips you have would be appreciated x

Aww poor you I can imagine!! Not nice at all.... So if you cant use the naughty corner what do you do? Am askin as was thinking about this lately, Loe has started tantrums and does not listen to "no" at all! We have a naughty corner for Freya but cant think what to do for little man as he does not understand yet.
About the potty training, we have started introducing the potty already if Leo does not have a nappy on, he can sit on it for as long as he want but not play with it, if he does anything in it we will be full of praise (but careful not to scare him lol). If Brodie is telling you, thats ace, get the potty out, lol!

we had been trying potty training for about a year. But he really didn't understand. we tried different pull ups but mainly found they leaked a lot as he's very skinny. he wouldn't sit on the potty.
Then after xmas tried again as i really would prefer him ready by school and knew it would take a while. We started off giving him stickers and a biscuit/choc every time he used it. It's been a couple of months so we now leave his nappy off all the time and i made him a chart. he gets a sticker every time he goes (which is mostly on his own with out encouragement now) then when he has 7 he gets a treat.
Hired a carpet cleaner today as tried so many things on the stains and the house still stunk, it was £20 and worked perfectly. But now worried when the next time will be, really hoping he understood the telling off was for the mess but not sure. We have another psychotherapist appointment soon so will be asking what i was supposed to do then.

Thanks guys, think i'll start to give it a try, especially now the nicer weather is here and i can leave his nappy off most of the time. The biscuit/choc reward thing sounds like a good idea too as food is definately Brodies motivation! Glad your house is poo free again, let us know what the psycotherapist recommends x x
