Hi Tina,
Wow you must be getting excited now. I asked the same question as I was told that babies with Downs are usually small and premature. Jasmine was only 1 week early which to be honest was just because my dates were out a little I think... She weighed 6lb 3oz which is on the small side but not tiny.
Good luck, can't wait to see Lewis.
Lucy x

I worried hun. I started to get really stressed about would I love the baby straight away (didn't know Holly was a she, she was a surprise) like I did with my boys. Would I bond with her, would she stay with me cus of her heart problems.
Totally nothing to worry about... LOL Took one look at her and immediately loved her with all my heart.
Then came the anxiety of would everyone else love her as much as me... LOL
The things we wind ourselves up over... LOL

I worried too but that was just because I'd never had a baby before and wasn't exactly maternal! I think everyone worries and is excited and panics and EVERYTHING - it's a lifechanging thing DS or no DS! You'll be fine and Lewis will be very lucky to have you as his Mummy. Is this your first child?

I was terrible when Gemma was born I was so worried about wot everyone else was going to think of Gemma, I was worried about telling all the Mums down the school and what their reactions would be. Gemma is now 2 and so far we have had no negative things said about Gemma by anyone (except the horrible doctor who first told me she had downs, but thats another story).People do look at Gemma when we are out but I hold my head up high with her as we love her so much and are so proud of everything she has achieved so far. She never ceases to amaze us and I am sure Lewis wll be exactly the same. He is going to be a lucky little boy to have you as his Mummy, and you are going to be a lucky Mummy to have such a special little boy in your life xx

Oooooo not long now both my boys were 8lb 41/2 oz.
I to was worried about what people would say about Henri when I told them he had DS, and what he would look like, but I have learnt to keep my head up high and not to listen to the negatives if people want to be shallow let them they are not worth knowing. I'm soooo proud of Henri and I know he has to work extra hard to achieve his goals and I know one day he will do everything that his brother does.

Esme was 4o wks + 13 days and weighed 8lb 10ozs, George was 40 wks + 6 days and weighted 6lb 10ozs.
As for worrying yes I did lots. We didn;t know about the ds before so had no time to prepare ourselves. I found myself ringing my friends to tell them George had ds before they came to visit us as I felt I had to warn them, I felt they would be disappointed and I didn't want to see that. I also worried that they wouldn;t like him. How daft was I, my friends were obviously a bit upset for us but they all loved George instantly and still do. People that I wasn;t close to but saw alot of at school I just told in my own time but news travels fast so I think most people knew anyway. We've never had any negative comments just the odd stare but that doesn't worry me anymore just makes me mad lol. At the end of the day we are the lucky ones having a little ones to love.
Not long to go now til Lewis puts in an appearance, can't wait to meet ur precious little man xx

Again - I've not had any negative comments, just lots of lovely support. Caleb has such a winning personality and a shock of blond hair so people tend to focus on that really! I'm so proud of him and I guess that will rub of on him - anyone who has a problem with him, well it's their problem not ours.
Our babies will be surrounded by love and support - they can't fail to do well!

Harrison was 8lbs 3oz and he was 3 weeks early! But my other son was a little porker too!
I had a horrid experience with a doctor during my pregnancy so I think that made me worry even more, and I also felt that people wouldn't accept Harry. But once Harry was born I was overwhelmed with how lovely everyone was and still are. I found those last couple of weeks leading up to the birth really tough too (I'd completely forgotten about it but reading your thread reminded me). Once Lewis is here and you can cuddle him I'm sure you'll feel much better. Take care x
