I have a sad story to tell A close friend of mine is a MW. When ever she delivers any babies with Downs she always tells them about here and about me and Holly. Anyway. There was a lady that had twins and one of them was born with Downs. My mate said he was adorable and sooooooo good. Mum went home with the healthy twin and left the baby with Downs

yes I stood and read it in Tesco! sweet story.
Well that lady doesn't deserve a special baby, lets hope and pray that he/she gets a much nicer family.

What they left the downs baby behind? ? No chance, she'll live to regret it. Stupid women. The downs baby will be easier to handle than the normal one!! Sorry, I get so annoyed when I hear stories like that.

Thats so sad about the Mum who had the twins. She doesnt realize what she is missing out on and so sad for the other twin when it grows up and finds out about its sibling. xx

Oh Rilith, that's just send shivers down my spine! Just seen the thread about the book 'Memory Keepers Daughter' and then saw your thread (someone needs to give that woman that book!). So sad that she's depriving her children from growing up together just because of her own fear (I try not to be judgemental but sometimes it's very difficult).

I bought take a break today but haven't read it yet.
Rilith, was that recently about the baby being left behind? I don't know how anyone could walk away from their baby like that. I remember when I had George and was still in hospital a midwife told me about a lady who'd had a baby with ds and the husband was very unsupportive and didn't want to keep the baby so she left it behind. My instant reaction was I would have left the husband behind and taken the baby x

I read the story n what a lovely story it is.. But 2 leave ur baby behind bcuz he/she as downs is an awful thing 2 do... She should b steralised, the nasty piece of work..., who else does that baby have if its own mother disowns it, I'm not even a mom 2 a ds baby yet 4 i'm real protective over him already.....its awful

It was only a few weeks ago. A little over a month or so. My mate was in tears on the phone to me, broke her heart. Its a shame but its better he goes to a family that will want him and love him than a family that will be ashamed of him. Hopefully Mum changed her mind and went back for him. Unfortunately my mate has gone to get married in Italy and has no internet access so I can't get an update

maybe it was just panic and she will change her mind - we all do odd things when just given birth! She's bound to regret it one day if she doesn't go back and get the other twin.
