Having looked into benefits and stuff we have decided that we can afford for me to be a SAHM once hubby gets a new job (that small unimportant issue...?!?!) YAY We booked a skiing holiday to Lapland (SO EXCITED) next Easter and have decided that if all is going according to plan by then we can start TTC a little bro or sis for Caleb! So I have a few months to get into good baby having shape! The sad thing that happened though - to balance out all the good things is that Father in Law was given the all clear from cancer about 6 months ago but it looks like its back after all - doesn't look good. Somewhat take the shine off everything else. very sad.

Hi Max, sorry to hear about you father in law, that is such sad news.
Glad to hear things are working out for you to be a SAHM though, hope your hubby gets his new job and things continue to go to plan.
I've decided that i don't really want to go back to work once my maternity leave is up in July so i've also been looking into what benefits etc are available and it's crazy but you always think going back to work would be the best option but i've been working things out and it looks like we'd actually be better off with me staying at home! YAY! I'm taking the 3 months aditional maternity leave unpaid so that'll be good practice incase we need to tighten the purse strings but if that goes ok then i'll be a SAHM too! It's a shame cause i do really love my job but i don't want to look back in 10 years time and feel like i missed out on the kids growing up because i was rushing to and from work all the time.
When do you think you'll be able to finish work? x x

Tina, yay you can be a SAHM too!!! I'll work until next summer as I love my job and they've been great to me and I work academic terms so wouldn't want to leave them in the lurch. My Hubby is a teacher so hopefully he'll get a new job to start in Sept. (he's applying for a really good one this week - please cross everything that he gets it!)
