I have decided after a lot of consideration & changing my mind from one day to the next, NOT to go back to work. Saw my headteacher on Mon. & told her my decision , handed in official letter of resignation on Tuesday. Obviously this will mean a tightening of the belts but as I've been on 6 mths unpaid extended maternity leave we're kind of use to it. We won't be on the breadline just a bit less disposable income. I just want to give Rachel my time, at school I deliver speech &language programmes to groups of children well now I can use those skills & time with Rachel. I am lucky to be able to make that choice as I realise others have to work to pay mortgage bills etc . Susan

I went back to work for a year but say a big difference in the kids so decided the best thing for them and me was to be a stay at home mum!

well done you - I am lucky enough to work from home but hope to give up work next summer so I can give Caleb more of my time (and maybe have another baby???)
It must feel great to have made the decision and to feel that it's sorted out!

Sounds like the right decision for you Susan. I am dreading having to think about going back to work myself, have no idea when and if I will and what care I will arrange for Jasmine. Have decided to wait until the new year before I think about it, i know I have plenty of time but nurserys get booked up sometimes 12 months in advance around here so I can't leave it too late if I decide to go back.
