Finally had our appointment today, after waiting 7 months!!..for a consultant to look at his head.
He has had a flat head on right hand side at the back since birth, and we've been a bit worried as it also ever so slightly has affected the allignment (sp) of his face. One of his ears sticks out more than the other as well.
I'm glad to say though that the consultant wasn't concerned in the slightest, and says she's seen a lot worse. She said his developement is fine, and unless I was really concerned about what it looks like (which isn't that bad at all) then not to worry about it.
I'm just gald it's not going to affect him, and to be fair, he has a mass of curly hair, which covers the worse.
The only thing that we do need to do is keep an eye on is his weight and head size (both above the 97th centile) he weighs 13.5 kilos!! But he is tall too at 78cm, so all in proportion.
So he has been diagnosed with flat head syndrome, I know that there is a proper medical name for this, but I can't even pronounce it let alone spell it! But all in all, he is healthy, and that's all I was worried about!
