We have to see Holly's consultant and the surgeon performing the op next Friday to discuss what the plans are for the op. The letter with the appointment on came this week (2nd letter about it so far) but this one says its a pre-admission one. Does that mean they will want her in real soon??? I am having a bit of a conflict ATM thinking "YEY it will soon be over" and "OH sh*t no not yet.... "

Oh wow, sounds like it might not be long now! Know what you mean about being in two minds about it though. Are you hoping Holly has it done before the new baby arrives?

Wow Rilith, keep us posted. I know what you mean about the conflicting interests but she wont be poorly for long. If only you could see grace now she has changed so much from the op. Gaining weight like nobodyd business and a lot more lively.
Got everything crossed for you

It went really well, we now know just how scary and terrifying the op is going to be. They are going to attempt to repair the AVSD AND the TOF. They are going to close the hole and then take some muscle away from the narrow pulminory artery to widen it. She will have to have more surgerys after this one but this is the biggest one of them all. She will be in surgery for up to 5 hours when she goes in, in ICU for 3-4 days and then onto the ward for up to 14 days (7 if she is very very good... LOL) A lot of what will happen next depends upon how well this surgery goes and if the valves are leaky or functioning OK. Oh and time line.... they are going to try and get her in before August so she will be home in September and give us enough time to get settled back in before baby comes. They are promising nothing but they are going to try Erm...... Thats the basics anyway.

Oh Rilith, I really feel for you, my stomach was churning reading that. You sound like such a strong and positive person. I'm sure Holly will bounce back quickly after her surgery and she'll have so much more energy once she's recovered. Lots of love xx

It sounds like they're going to get Holly in pretty soon so hopefully it will soon be done. Holly certainly sounds like a tough cookie and these surgeons can do amazing things now. Sending a big kiss from Harrison to Holly
