Hi
Brett is still being tube feed (now 15 months old) due to having an unsafe swallow. Has anyone else tube fed for this reason?

Awwww Holly was tube fed (And still is when her weight drops) because of her poorly heart and poor weight gain. He looks soooooo Cute. How do you find his face though, the tape always made Hollys face really sore, especially when she got to the age of pulling it out all the time. The only thing that worked for us was bloody eleizabeth arden cream

gosh that must have been expensive! lol, Brett's face does get a bit sore, expecially if he's pulled the tube out and the dressing has come off quickly rather than gently. I use sudocreme and give the sore side a rest by swapping which nostral the tube is in. Brett is fed 2 bolus feeds in the day and then a continuous feed overnight. He has a milk allergy, so he is on Neocate and he's slowly started to put on a bit of weight, still very underweight for his age though. He has just recently started to have a very small pea sized amount of baby food on a spoon, he's not sure what to make of it at the moment and is either spitting it out or pulling a face, but we're getting there!

my little one was also tube fed up until a few months ago and used to go thro spells of pulling out his tube sometimes up to six + times a day!!!!my solution was just to use micropore tape as it is much gentler on the skin - prob with this is its not nearly so sticky but as william was soooo determined to pull it out nothing short of superglue would have stopped him anyway!!

It must be so difficult Kath. I can't imagine it as Jasmine has always been so good with feeding. You must so want him to start being able to feed without the tube. What do the healthcare professionals say about weaning him off it?
