I've been taking Jasmine to baby sign classes for a few weeks now... it's actually sing and sign but they use BSL and apparently it's a great way to aid communication and development of speech. I'm not sure how much Jasmine enjoys it, she makes me laugh because most of the time she wears a very studious expression with a stern frown and the occasional raised eye brow as though everyone in the room is mad for sunging nursery ryhmns and waving their hands around. I'm tring to encourage my Mum and Step Dad to sign key words to her bacsue they are like her second parent as she sees so much of them, I get the feeling that they thing she won't talk as quickly if she learns to sign but I've researched it and that seems to be untrue. Anyway am persevering for a while and I'll let you know if Jasmine ever decides to make a sign (other than blowing raspberries at everyone).

Thats what Caleb did at first - if she is watching then she is interested. Caleb can do quite a few signs now and its so nice to know what he wants or to have any communication going on! It definately has speeded his communication up as now he wants to get his point across. I'd say go for it but don't be surprised if she doesn't do any signs for ages - it's all going in though.
