please could anyone help me with any ideas to stop my 22 month year old from biting. He cuddles up to and then suddenly bites when you say NO he then laughs. He also loves arms when he is sitting on your lap.I dont think he relies how much it hurts. His nana has bruises on her arm.

Hi Angie, We had this problem with Harrison for a while, thankfully he doesn't do it too much now. He used to laugh when he was told off too, but we just continued to tell him 'no' and that it was naughty - I think he now understands it is wrong which makes it easier. Hope everything else is ok

Hi Angie. Daniel used to bite too, and we used to be cross and do the no thing, but it didnt make much difference. I asked for some help with it as I got quite upset (he bit his key worker at nursery) and the 'planned ignoring' was the advice I got. No eye contact at all (apparently its about getting any sort of reaction) saying no and removing and properly ignoring him for a few mins. It was weird as it was the opposite of what I was doing and takes a lot of patience, but has seemed to work. Daniel doesnt bite anymore, but he's a bit older and understands 'no' now and gets upset when we tell him off. You've got to do whats feels right for your family, but make sure everyone does the same thing. Its a toughy thats for sure!! Good luck!! xx

Holly had a small phase of it, especially when cuddled for some reason.
We told her firmly NO and put her down, and then ignored her. After a few mins of her being upset we would pick her up again and tell her again, No biting, nice to Mummy/Daddy, Nice Cuddle.
Thankfully for us it didn't last too long.
Stay firm and consistant hun. It will pay off in the end
