Hey everyone! Just a note to say that my little man had his AVSD repair done yesterday, and im pleased to say that it looks like its been a complete success! He was teken down at 9.30am yesterday and was back in ICU by 2.30pm. By 3.30pm they had reduced the oxygen on the ventilator by half and an hour later he was on the minimum. Today, just 21hours after surgery he had the ventiltor fully removed and the morphine dropped to 0.5ml per hour. Cannot beleive how well he is doing. He should be fully off morphine by now and looks like out of ICU tomorrow and back up to the ward-a whole two days earlier than they expected!!!! He's such a little star and a proper little fighter. He was trying to pull the ventilation tube out of his nose by last night, wasnt happy with it at all lol! Hopefully he continues to do this well and should have him home early next week. What great news, you must be so relived that it's all over. It's amazing how quick they bounce back. In my experience though you'll take much longer to get over it, lol. hugs to you both. take care, Donna n Elliott. xx

Wow sounds like Kai is making a very fast recovery - I'm always amazed at all the children who've had the OHS , they are just amazing as are you parents ,hard to imagine when (luckily for us ) you've never had a child go through that. Bewt Wishes to you all for a continuing good recovery. xSusan
