Any tips on walking Lucy can do a couple of steps then falls over, she can stand for 5 mins before tiring. She is getting so frustrated because she wants to walk and I don't know how to help her. Physio have left her a walker, which she refuses to use. I know she will do it in her own time, and im not trying to rush her, i just want to help ease her frustration but i don''t know how

Other than grit you teeth, start every trip an hour before you need to and try to walk everywhere!! We just held hands with daniel and walked with him whereever possible, waited while he had a sit down and tried again! Lots of backache but daniel sounds like Lucy that he really wanteds to walk, so we just did it at every opportunity. And loads of games, clapping and rewards! Good luck - she will be running away before you know it!! xx

Harry had a walker, like a little zimmer frame bless him - is that the same as Lucy? He wasn't interested in it for a long time but he had weekly physio sessions where they kept introducing it and one day he just started walking with it, it really surprised all of us because he went from hardly any steps to pushing it across the room. Maybe occasionally try and introduce the walker, see if she will just stand at it first, once she's familiar with it then she may decide she wants to use it xxx

physio took her walker back as she won't use it, however portage has given her a little trolly with bricks that she quite likes to sit on ;D Physio don't visit any more, she thinks Lucy is choosing not to walk, but I don't really believe that, its more her balance won't let her do more than a handful of steps. She has never walked outside, I have tried but she won't put her feet on the floor... Maybe she's just scared of falling..bet she will surprise me one day and just go x
