Just wanted to say I can hardly believe we've arrived at this point - getting ready for school , when I think back to finding this group in the days following Rachel's birth ! We've got the statement sorted, we've been to new parents evening (felt just a tad old !) , got the visits lined up for after half term , a transition plan already sorted for her first term - so there's uniform to get later & then Sept will be here before we know it . Not sure I'm ready to send her off to school - weird really ,maybe it's because she's our 'surprise' & really is our baby - don't remember feeling like this with the others. Probably me hormones - menopause this time though

Ah, it was the uniform that got me!! Until then, I was fine! They suddenly seem very grown up in the uniform!! I'm sure Rachel will just love school! (and they will love her!)

Statmenting wasn't too bad , Rachel has fulltime support in the classroom, speech & lang is only one visit a term by therapist but TA is more than qualified to deliver programme & Rachel has been referred for a block with the community clinic . OT is being great support , seating, steps etc . Only prob at the moment is Rachel has taken against school , 1st two visits went fairly well , 3rd one with friends from her nursey a disaster , she was very agitated & crying & asking to go home . She won't look at her photo book , won't talk about it etc- so we're just backing off for a week & then she's going in when school is empty of kids, then going in just at story time & then leaving .... see how we go that way instead of full on in the classroom full of children. I'm sure we'll get there ......
